ATLANTA, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dog Tales(TM), a DVD described as "play dates for dogs," offers pet owners the ability to record personalized messages for their dogs. The DVDs are designed to entertain today's pampered pooches while their owners are away.

The latest in the pet pampering craze, people are now singing, reading, even telling their dogs to stay off the couch in recorded messages. The recordings, called Dog-E-Talk(TM), play at the beginning of The Dog Tales DVDs which play on an automatic loop. ($21.95, http://www.thedogtales.com, 877-710-9050)

"We feel guilty about leaving our dogs home alone," says Kathy Ver Eecke, co-producer of The Dog Tales. "Our DVDs are created with sights and sounds to attract the attention of dogs. Now with our own voices included in the movie, we can comfort our dogs as well as entertain them."

With Dog-E-Talk's exclusive technology consumers are given an access code with their purchase and directed to call a toll-free number. Messages can be up to one minute long. The one of a kind DVDs are then mailed with the personalized recordings embedded within the movie.

Dogs watching television is not a new phenomenon. The American Kennel Club says 50% of dogs currently watch television. The Humane Society of America suggests leaving the television or radio playing when pets are left alone as part of a calming routine.

The Dog Tales DVDs tell the story of the dogs that live on Long Leash Lane. The first episode, "The Mailman," introduces us to the dogs and their distinct personalities. The DVDs are subtitled "in human" for those of us who don't speak bark.

The Dog Tales can be purchased on-line from http://www.thedogtales.com. ($14.99 - $21.95) For more information call (877)710-9050 or email info@thedogtales.com.

The Dog Tales with Dog-E-Talk is a product of Long Leash, Inc. a Georgia Corporation. Additional episodes of The Dog Tales are slated to release in summer 2006. Dog-E-Talk will be available with all of The Dog Tales DVDs.
