NEW YORK, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Dogsters(TM) the only healthy, all natural, low calorie, and low fat frozen ice-cream style treat for dogs, increased its annual sales by 173% and grew its product category by 15%, according to CEO Greg DeLuca. He also announced that Dogsters has been named one of the Top 10 Regional New Products in Frozen Food Age's 2005 Top New Product Awards.

"Pet food/treats, one of the fastest growing market segments, brings in $14.5 billion dollars in sales annually, with pet snacks posting $2 billion in retail sales last year," DeLuca asserts.

Dogsters offers three product SKU's including Snow Cups (in Nutley and Kissibly Fresh Minte flavors) and United Fido Orbitors (sandwich-style oatmeal cookie and frozen yogurt treats). All products were developed and tested by a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, veterinarians, food scientists and a panel of dog taste-testers. Ingredients are all natural, low calorie, low fat, preservative free, and no added milk. Dogsters can be found in the freezer section of supermarkets throughout the U.S.A.

"Grocers are now requesting the opportunity to carry all Dogsters products, due in large part to consumer requests."

Matthew P. Smith, VP of Marketing for CoolBrands (Dogsters' distributor) agrees, "In addition to being the healthy and tasty alternative to our competitor, Dogsters has also received the respect of the consumer because we offer a family style approach to product introduction." Greg DeLuca travels the country offering free products to pet owners while helping to raise funds that benefit local pet organizations.

Sampling opportunities and partnerships with the movie Must Love Dogs, and events such as Broadway Barks, Loews Hotel's Mutt Mingles, Florida Marlins Bark at the BallPark, and the Furry Scurry in Denver, among others, have played a key role attracting consumers. DeLuca concludes, "During the past year, thousands of pet owners have enjoyed watching their dog taste Dogsters products for the first time. With the first crunch of the UFO sandwich, or lick of a Snow Cup, the tail starts wagging double-time and we have a new customer!"
