Pet Owners Plan to Dress Up Their Furry Family Members This Halloween
BREA, Calif., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Trick-or-treating isn't just for kids anymore, according to a recent survey of Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI) policyholders. Sixty-eight percent of respondents to VPI's online survey intend to dress up their pets this Halloween, according to the nation's oldest and largest provider of pet health insurance.
More than 2,000 passionate pet lovers responded to a survey in the company's fall policyholder newsletter, The Retriever. Nearly six percent stated that they'll dress up their pet for the first time this year, while 22.8 percent admitted they plan to wear costumes that match their pet. Close to 40 percent simply expressed, "Of course I will, it's Halloween." Almost 32 percent of policyholders won't wardrobe their dog or cat.
"VPI Pet Insurance policyholders are some of the most passionate pet lovers around, and they treat their pets as integral family members," said VPI spokesperson Dr. Carol McConnell. "The fact that many of them are involving their dogs and cats in this year's Halloween festivities is proof positive of what we call the human-animal bond."
