Wendy Diamond, founder and editorial director of Animal Fair Magazine Offers Top Ten Suggestions on the Best Luxury Products for 'Platinum Pets'

NEW YORK, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Wealthy Americans are spending lavishly on luxury goods for their pets, according to the Second Annual American Express Platinum Luxury Survey. The survey, conducted this year with a random cross-section of 770 wealthy Americans, revealed that they spent an average of $12,831 on luxury pet products in the past year alone -- a large portion of their annual luxury spending.

The Second Annual American Express Platinum Luxury Survey was a quantitative survey conducted in March 2005 among a random cross-section of 770 rich and affluent Americans. The survey examined the luxury market, how much the wealthy are spending annually on buying luxuries and what the differing attitudes, expectations and motivations are among the wealthy when purchasing luxuries.
